St Albans Academy

St Albans Academy is a state of the art new build project to replace the existing school. The striking and RIBA award winning architecture of the building is of particular note. Both internal and external finishes were designed and installed with a view to optimising the learning experience.

The Horbury Group were responsible for the design and delivery of the external facades which included SFS, Rainscreen Cladding, Curtain Walling & Insulated Render systems. The internal scope of works included Timber and Acoustic Panelling, Partitions, Suspended Ceilings, Joinery, Bespoke Screens and Counters to the reception and library areas, Cubicles to the WC and wet areas and Soft Flooring finishes. The Horbury Group also undertook the Decorating and Glazed Partitions package.

The gymnasium had to be ‘Sports England Compliant’ which included a greater degree of detailing which included a specialist soft flooring solution. The Horbury Group offer a multi package solution and as such we believe this benefits the coordination and delivery of challenging projects.
