Job Title : Site Manager

Reporting To : Contracts Manager

Normal Place Of Work : Site ( Construction sites throughout the UK )

Normal Working Hours : 40 Hours Mon-Fri 08:00 - 16:30 ( depending on site )

Flexibility Required : Needs to be able to travel and possibly lodge throughout the UK

 

Purpose of the Role (Overview):

Day to day control and delivery of construction projects to meet customer specifications (quality, time, etc) such that all risk, specification and project timescales are met in full. 

At this level, the individual Is fully self-sufficient, works independently and are able to deliver projects without direct supervision.  They will be capable to work on any project secured by the business.  The job is site based.  Reports either to the Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Contracts Manager. To fully comply with Horbury health & safety and legal requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-        Manage the day to day delivery of construction projects, time, procurement & contractors.

-        Liaise with the Project Manager or Contracts Manager to ensure that the Project Manager is fully aware of project progress and is notified of all financial, specification and time risks.

-        Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved.

-        Ensure that detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan such that material and resources can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines.

-        Ensure all materials delivered to site meet production needs.

-        Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the site / project / contract.

-        Ensure that all additional work is identified and that the Project Manager of Contracts Manager.

-        Create and sustain a culture and working environment that drives employee satisfaction.

-        Flexibility required to the business needs.

-        Responsible for the safety and welfare of all staff and sub-contractors within their control under the strict observance of the Horbury safety policy.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Detail the requirements of the role that potential candidates will be assessed against.  Differentiate between essential and desirable requirements.

Qualifications Required:

-        5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and Mathematics).

-        SSSTS (as a minimum requirement)

-        CSCS (required)

-        First Aid (desirable)

-        PASMA (desirable)

-        IPAF (desirable) 

Skills Required:

Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Some construction related skills would be an advantage.

Computer literate and have knowledge using Microsoft packages and Outlook.

Competencies / Experience Required:

To have the relevant university or college qualification within the industry.
